Dennis Willoughby, of North Chesterfield, went to a local 7-Eleven convenience store to buy chocolate milk for his children when he decided to grab a lottery ticket to scratch, Virginia Lottery officials said on Wednesday.
The ticket, a Million Dollar Platinum Jackpot, ended up winning the jackpot.
Willoughby is the second player to win the main prize for this game. Another winner with another top prize winning ticket has yet to be found.
The chance of winning is 1 in 1,632,000, lottery officials said.
Happy Dad had the option of receiving the full $1 million prize in annual payments over 30 years or a one-time cash payment of $640,205 after tax. He chose the second option.
Although it’s not $1 million, he’ll still be able to buy a lot of chocolate milk.
