A 19-year-old man is being investigated by police on suspicion of committing virtual rape. He was the target of a search and seizure warrant in Itacajá, northern region of Tocantins, last Monday (23).
According to the Civil Police, the man met the victims on social media, made friends and started dating online. As time went by, he gained the trust of the victims and convinced them to send nudes and intimate videos.
According to investigations, after receiving the images, the man began to threaten the victims, with the aim of satisfying his own wants and desires.
The investigation revealed that the suspect participated in forums where child pornography and images of possible sexual abuse were shared. In these forums, it was discovered that the man forced his victims to write his codename on their skin with a scalpel.
There are indications that the individual was involved in virtual rape crimes with victims not only in Tocantins, but in several Brazilian states.
During the searches, the civil police located and seized cell phones and pen drives containing material that was allegedly used to extort and threaten the victims.
The Civil Police are investigating the case and are continuing to carry out expert analysis on the seized material, to identify its origin and the victims involved in the case.
