A man was arrested in Bahia on Tuesday (12) on suspicion of using the actor’s data Chay suede to open a bank account and commit fraud, according to the Bahia Public Security Secretariat (SSP-BA).
Identified as Alealdo Saraiva Silva, he was arrested on Tuesday during an action by the Military and Civil Police when he tried to unlock access to the financial institution’s application in the actor’s name, said the SSP.
The suspect was caught because employees at the bank branch were suspicious of his attitude and called the authorities.
According to delegate Marita Souza, the suspect used documents with the actor’s data and image to open an account through the Banco Regional de Brasília app and got a R$200,000 limit on his credit card and R$25,000 on his special check.
He then made a transfer via Pix of R$1,000 to another account, but then ended up blocked by the bank.
“He went to the agency to try to unblock the application, but presented a document with the actor’s data and his photo, which aroused the agency employee’s suspicion,” explained a police officer.
The suspect was charged with embezzlement and fraudulent misrepresentation. He will undergo a custody hearing.
A CNN also contacted Chay Suede’s advisors, but he has not yet commented.
