A passenger on the Copa Airlines flight, which left Brasilia bound for Panama, tried to open one of the aircraft’s doors during landing this Tuesday (5).
The crew, with the help of passengers, contained the individual. Upon arriving in Panama, he was removed by the security team and taken to the authorities.
Images recorded from inside the aircraft show the commotion generated before the arrival of police officers.
According to a note from Copa Airlines sent to CNN the safety of flight CM204 and the passengers present was protected.
Copa Airlines described the passenger who tried to open the door as “undisciplined”.

The flight was calm, the captain told us to prepare, that landing procedures were going to begin in Panama, and there were 30 minutes left.
A man stopped at the door next to the bathroom, near the plane’s exit, in the back. The flight attendant found his posture strange and leaned against him. I had even gone to the bathroom and passed by it, but I didn’t notice anything wrong. And she stood next to him and we sat down.
When it took a few minutes, she started shouting for the other flight attendant, her co-worker, asking for help. He started screaming and soon the passengers realized that something was wrong.
She said: “there is a man wanting to open the plane door”.
It was enough for anyone who heard it to despair. We felt calmer, because, of course, we imagined that it wouldn’t be that easy to open the plane door, but the flight attendant ran to help and tried to stop the boy.
The boy was very strong, tall, young, and he couldn’t do it. Other passengers got up, there were some strong passengers on the plane, they got up, ran, tried to hold on, they started to fight and the passengers started attacking the man, attacking him until he became very bad, very weak. And he could practically no longer move.
Then they managed to put him in the chair and the plane was still running for a few minutes.
When the landing took place and the army police officers went in there and detained the man, that’s how it happened.
