Driver Rafael Pomposelle, 38 years old, was shot dead by a plainclothes military police officer after getting involved in a traffic fight in Rio Comprido, in the north of Rio de Janeiro, last Sunday (19).
The crime occurred near Praça Condessa, on Rua Estrela, known for being a shopping center in the region.
According to initial information, the police officer worked as a taxi driver to earn extra income and was involved in a fight with Rafael over traffic issues. Both the victim and the PM were armed .
The Fire Department was called to assist the man and pronounced dead at the scene.
Agents from the 4th Battalion (São Cristóvão) were also called and provided support by closing one of the streets, and then called the Civil Police. The case is investigated by the Capital Homicide Police Station (DHC), which has already carried out the investigation and is continuing with efforts to elucidate the crime.
The identity and battalion of the PM suspected of being the shooter were not revealed. He has already given a statement at the police station.
The gun that was with Rafael was collected by the agents. His body will be buried this Monday afternoon (20), at the São Francisco de Paula Cemetery, in Catumbi.

The crime would have happened after an alleged disagreement in traffic on Avenida Lúcio Costa, in Barra da Tijuca, west of the capital of Rio de Janeiro. After investigations, the Civil Police identified that the suspect of having killed Marcelo is a civil police officer.
In a statement, the police reported that they represented the arrest of the agent and are continuing their search to locate him.
According to the Capital Homicide Police Station (DHC), an investigation was carried out at the scene and analysis of images from security cameras in the region was carried out to elucidate the case.
