Man is suspected of trying to kill ex and stepdaughter with poisoned candies

The Goiás Civil Police arrested last Saturday (10) a 41-year-old man investigated for attempted murder for poisoning against the former partner and his stepdaughter.

According to the investigations, the suspect reportedly oriented to his own daughter, 7, to deliver two chocolates allegedly poisoned to his 11 -year -old mother and sister. The child told her mother that she saw her father researching the internet how to poison chocolates, dissolving a substance into a glass and injecting the liquid into the chocolates with a syringe.

“She reported that she saw her father doing research on YouTube on how to put poison in candies. Then he took two chocolates, dissolved a substance into a glass and with a syringe injected into the chocolates. Then he advised her to hand over to her mother and sister,” said Deputy Luís Antônio de Jesus, responsible for the case.

The complaint surfaced on April 8, when the child reported the case to his mother, precisely on the day the suspect was arrested for breaking protective measures. He was released after a custody hearing and, so far, continues to be free, as there was no flagrant related to the poisoning or request for pre -trial detention.

During the compliance with the judicial warrant, police searched two addresses linked to the investigated. A cell phone has been seized and should assist in clarifying the facts.

The man has not yet been formally interrogated on the attempted poisoning. If the suspicions are confirmed, he may answer for attempted femicide.

THE CNN could not locate the defense of the suspect because the names of those involved was not disclosed.
