A 60-year-old man has reportedly been vaccinated dozens of times against Covid-19 in Germany in order to sell vaccination cards to people who did not want to get the vaccine themselves.
According to the Guardian, the man from the city of Magdeburg in East Germany, whose name was not disclosed in accordance with German data protection rules, is said to be made up to 90 (!) coronavirus vaccines at vaccination centers in Saxony for monthsuntil the police caught him.
The suspect was not arrested, but is being investigated for issuing vaccines without a license and forging documents, dpa reported.
He was caught at a vaccination center in Eileenburg, Saxony, when he showed up for a Covid vaccine for the second day in a row. Police confiscated several blank vaccination cards from him and opened criminal proceedings. By taking the doses of the vaccine the man would get real vaccine batch numbers to write them on the cards.
It was not immediately clear what impact the approximately 90 Covid-19 vaccine injections, which came from different brands, had on men’s health.

German police have carried out several raids in connection with the forgery of vaccination passports in recent months. Many Covid deniers refuse to be vaccinated in Germany, but at the same time want to have the coveted passports that make it much easier to access public life and places like restaurants, theaters, swimming pools or workplaces.
Germany has had high numbers of infections for weeks, but many measures to curb the pandemic ended on Friday. The use of a mask is no longer mandatory in grocery stores and most theaters, but it is still mandatory on public transport.
Health experts say the most recent outbreak of infections in Germany – caused by the BA.2 omicron subtype – may have reached its peak.
On Sunday, the country’s disease control service reported 74,053 new infections in one day, while less than a week ago it reported 111,224 daily infections.
In total, Germany has recorded 130,029 deaths from Covid.
