Man named as CCP leader in the triple border is arrested in SP

A man identified as Paulo Roberto Estevam de Carvalho, appointed as leader of the Capital First Command (CCP) criminal faction in the triple border, was arrested last Wednesday (7) in the east of São Paulo.

The arrest occurred after a joint operation of the São Paulo Civil Police with that of Acre. According to investigations, Carvalho operated in the northern region of the country, being one of the most sought after on the border between Brazil, Peru and Bolivia.

According to Deputy Roberth Alencar of the Capital and Interior Police Department, “Paulo Baladeira,” as he is known, he gave “orders for execution of rival faction members and the coordination of international drug trafficking routes.”

Carvalho was convicted in 2014 by the Acre Court of Justice due to crimes related to drug trafficking, homicides and criminal organization. Since that year he had been a fugitive in the state of Sao Paulo, but even distant had influence and controlled criminal actions across the country, “especially in the municipalities of Epitacioland, Brazilia and the Pando department in Bolivia.”

The Acre Civil Police stressed that in São Paulo, the operation had crucial information for the location and approach of the fugitive from the São Paulo Civil Police Intelligence Department and the State Department of Criminal Investigations.

Paulo Baladeira will return in the coming days to Acre to serve his sentence in closed regime.
