Brazilian actress Alice Braga will be part of the cast of a new Netflix series, “Man on Fire” (still no name in Portuguese), according to information from The Hollywood Reporter.
The series will be an adaptation based on the book series by author AJ Quinnell, which introduces us to John Creasy, a Special Forces soldier looking for a new beginning who needs to fight his personal demons before turning the page.
Actor Abdul-Mateen will star in the series as John Creasy. The cast also features Billie Boullet as Poe Rayburn, a young woman who is unhappy with her parents’ decision to move to Brazil, until a tragic accident changes her perspective on family and she needs to trust Creasy.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alice Braga will play Valeria Melo, a professional driver whose family is linked to a faction that runs one of the favelas in Brazil.
In addition to the Brazilian actress, the vehicle also confirms the participation of actors Scoot McNairy and Paul Ben-Victor in the series.
“Man on Fire” does not yet have a release date confirmed on Netflix.
