The Mucuri Territorial Police Station is investigating the death of Luciano Santos Baldovino, 46 years old, shot while driving in the district of Itabatã, in the extreme south of Bahia, on the afternoon of last Sunday (13).
According to the Civil Police, Luciano was hit by gunfire during a disturbance near a children’s party on Rua Paraíba, where residents were celebrating Children’s Day.
Witnesses reported that, after being shot, Luciano accelerated the vehicle at high speed, frightening people present at the party.
At that moment, residents began to pick up stones to throw at his car. Soon after, Luciano lost control of the vehicle and collided with the wall of a residence.
The man was rescued by a team from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and taken to Hospital São José, but he succumbed to his injuries.
The Civil Police reported, in a statement, that the case remains under investigation.
