One person died this Wednesday (16) after an accident caused by a man who, moments before, had stolen a bus. The case occurred in Nova Lima (MG), in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte.
According to the police, the man – whose name was not released – stole the bus in Betim, also in Greater Belo Horizonte. He drove the bus along the BR-040 highway and ended up colliding with a van. On impact, the van hit a passenger car, killing the driver.
The highway was closed in both directions with no plans for reopening. The concessionaire responsible for the stretch, EPR Via Mineira, reported that it is on site and that there are more people injured, but there is still no information on their health status.
