A man was shot by the Military Police after threatening people with a scythe on Friday (9), near Santos Dumont airport in downtown Rio de Janeiro. The man has not yet been identified.
According to the Rio de Janeiro State Military Police, the Capital Homicide Police Station (DH-C) has been fired and is investigating death.
According to preliminary information from the 5th BPM (Center) command, the man, who was threatening people with a scythe, was intercepted by a military police officer.
During the approach, the suspect reacted and was shot by the agent.
The ambulance was called and the occurrence was recorded in the 5th DP. Diligences are underway to clarify all facts.
