In the early hours of Wednesday (20), a 23-year-old man was beaten to death in Barueri, after chasing and trying to attack his ex-girlfriend.
The attacker, Alexandre Oliveira Rodrigues, 34 years old, is the current boyfriend of the woman who was being harassed.
Nicolas de Sousa Amaral was rescued by agents from the Municipal Civil Guard after receiving 22 blows to various parts of his body. He had a serious head injury and was taken to the central emergency room alive, but he did not survive.
A CNN delegate Andreas Schiffmann, head of the Barueri Police Station, said that Ketilen Julianna Ribeiro de Freitas, aged 24, was constantly pursued by Nicolas, who did not accept the end of the relationship.
“Nicolas really had a troubled relationship with Ketilen. She had a protective order against him. Nicolas was even arrested for threatening and causing bodily harm in a domestic context,” said Schiffmann.
The delegate also said that the persecution continued after the young woman started dating Alexandre.
Threats and attacks
On the day he was killed, Nicolas went to the street where Ketilen lived, in the Tupanci neighborhood, to threaten the couple once again, when Alexandre picked up the stick and struck. According to the Public Security Secretariat, Ketilen said in a statement that her ex-boyfriend also tried to attack her at the time.
After leaving Nicolas injured on a public street, the couple was arrested red-handed this morning, during investigations into the crime. Both will be charged with qualified homicide due to ill motive.
The police reported that the couple has not yet appointed a lawyer for their defense.
