The man responsible for shooting a Brazilian Air Force major during an attempted robbery on June 5 was arrested by Civil Police agents last Saturday (27), in the Paraisópolis favela, in the South Zone of São Paulo.
According to the police, during the arrest, Pedro Henrique Maciel de Souza, even surrounded by the team, entered into a physical fight in an attempt to obtain a weapon.
He ended up being neutralized after being hit in the right thigh, and was taken to the Campo Limpo Hospital, also in the South Zone.
After being medicated, he was taken to the headquarters of the State Department of Criminal Investigations, the Deic, and also charged with resistance.
The crime of robbery and attempted murder took place in Vila Olímpia, an upscale area in the southern part of the capital.
At the time, security camera footage captured the moment when FAB officer Rafael Gomes Moreira, 38, who was accompanied by his wife, 34, reacted and tried to grab the criminal’s gun, where he was then shot.

He was taken to the Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (HCFMUSP), and is doing well.
