Måneskin: Gossip arrives, the new single with Tom Morello. And it is pure energy

We’ve been waiting to hear it for a long time and, finally, Gossip, the new single of the Maneskin made with the extraordinary collaboration of the legendary Tom Morello, guitarist of, among others, Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave, and Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band, is available on all streaming platforms for the delight of fans. Waiting for the video clip, written and directed by Tommaso Ottomano, Gossip impresses for two reasons: both to understand in which direction Måneskin are going, ready to face a year full of commitments between an almost completely sold out tour and international expectations, and both because gossip, with its bursting energy, the refined guitar riff and the biting and powerful voice of Damiano David, it is the fourth single extracted from RUSH!, the band’s new album arriving on January 20, 2023, already available for pre-order / pre-save. Judging by the lyrics, framed by an explosive sound that will make everyone dance a bit, it is clear that this time the Måneskin wanted to focus their attention on that meat grinder in which they themselves ended up a couple of years ago: gossip and its pitfalls. In the song, in fact, the band talks about the “city of lies”, of actresses who need to put “plastic on their face” in order to survive, and of a “circus” that lingers on the surface “sweeping shit under the rug”.

«Sip the gossip, drink ’til you choke. Sip the gossip, burn down your throat» (or: “Sip the gossip, drink yourself choke Sip the gossip, burn your throat”) sing the Måneskin pointing the finger at how corrosive that steamroller machine can be which, more often than not, ruins the lives of well-known people by inventing news and fueling suspicion and fear, highlighting it through a rhythm and a crescendo that could not be more sizzling. «Tom Morello’s enormous experience allowed us to take inspiration to work on the tracks without thinking too much about it. We can never thank him enough. It’s an honor for the whole band», said Damiano thanking Tom Morello for choosing to work side by side with them on this song. «Tom is one of my greatest idols, listening to him I have always learned a lot. Playing with him has been a dream come true. It was a huge gift and a great achievement in an incredible year!», Thomas added, meeting the favor of Morello himself, who said: «When they told me about an Italian rock band I thought “But really? Come on”. And instead seeing them play live shocked me. Their rock charge, their power, their sensuality are indisputabledeserve to be one of rock n roll’s greatest landmarks for the new generation.”

Produced mainly by Fabrizio Ferraguzzo and Max Martin, the new Måneskin album, RUSH!, was recorded in Los Angeles, Italy and Tokyo and contains the singles already released supermodels, Oh mama and the most recent The Loneliest. The new single and album come as the band is preparing to resume the LOUD KIDS TOUR, the world tour which, after finishing the 2022 tranche in Las Vegas, it will start again on February 23, making stops throughout Europe, and touching the most important arenas in Italy. The tour – to which is added a new sold out for the March 6th show at the Mercedes Benz Arena in Berlin – will end with four special event dates at the Olympic Stadium in Romeon 20 and 21 July, and at the San Siro Stadium in Milanon 24 (sold out) and 25 July 2023. 500,000 tickets have already been sold.
