A man left a bag of explosives at a Berlin train station and tried to flee when he was stopped by federal police. “We are investigating all possibilities,” a police spokesman told Reuters on Thursday, adding that authorities were not yet able to identify the suspect. Police said they stopped the man at the German capital’s Neukoelln station on Wednesday afternoon. He left the scene and explosives were found in the bag he left behind. The bag was taken to a nearby parking lot, where a controlled explosion was carried out, the post said. Bild newspaper reported that the bag contained triacetone triperoxide, a white explosive powder known as TATP that is often used in extremist attacks against the public. Police could neither confirm nor deny the report about the type of explosive.
