Manuel Pérez-Sala, new president of the Círculo de Empresarios

The Board of Directors of the CÃrculo de Empresarios has appointed as new president Manuel PÃ © rez-Sala. The new manager replaces the position of John de Zulueta, who in turn has been named honorary president.

PÃ © rez-Sala was unanimously elected after being nominated by the nominating committee. For his part, Zulueta, who held the position for the last three years “very intense”, recalled that they have been marked by the pandemic and “a weak, divided and unstable government.”

In this sense, he pointed out that “the government’s management during this crisis, both from the health and economic point of view, is being extraordinarily poor and the main international organizations place Spain at the bottom of the ranking in the face of recovery “.

The new president, for his part, defended organizations such as the CÃrculo de Empresarios, which he considers necessary “to hear again that freedom and prosperity are the result of initiative, entrepreneurship, merit, effort, commitment and the generosity of many citizens. ” He also assured that “they must be defended against the threat of populist and totalitarian movements.”

“We want our ideas to influence society, and for this, we have to use striking, clear and concise language that reaches new generations,” he added, considering that “only by convincing public opinion will we convince our rulers “. “We are facing an unprecedented challenge, the defense of freedom, because we have reached a point where more state means less freedom,” he added.
