Manufacturing sales rise 0.3% in October, below expectations

Manufacturing sales in Canada increased 0.3% to $ 54.1 billion in Octoberdata released by Statistics Canada on Tuesday showed. This reading follows the September rise of 1.5% and was below the expectation of a 0.6% reading.

“Manufacturing sales in constant dollars were unchanged, indicating that the increase in October was driven entirely by higher prices,” Statistics Canada said in the press release.

Market reaction

The CAD did not move after the data, and remained in positive territory against the dollar. USD / CAD falls 0.20% and is trading at 1.2735.
