The reason for the cancellations was the call of several Italian unions for a four-hour work stoppage. Air traffic control company Enav and airlines Ryanair, Easyjet and Volotea were on strike, according to union confederations. The airlines said they had notified affected customers in advance.
There is a dispute between companies and unions over workers’ rights, working conditions and the payment of minimum wages in the industry. According to Enav, the warning strike was to last from 14:00 to 18:00. He said flights between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. they will not be affected.
