Many Italians believe that information from Ukraine is a product of manipulation, according to a poll

Many Italians believe that information from Ukraine is subject to manipulation, both by the Italian media and by the Kiev authorities, according to a poll published today by the newspaper La Repubblica.

Thus 46% of respondents believe that, “regarding the war in Ukraine, most of the information in Italy is subject to manipulation and falsification”, according to this poll conducted by the Demos Institute on April 11 and 12 on behalf of the newspaper in a sample of more than 1,000 persons with an error margin of 3.1%.

In fact, 23% of respondents believe that “the information and images of the alleged war crimes of the Russian army are directed by the Ukrainian government,” according to the same poll.

The institute divided this national average according to the intention of the respondents to vote and it turned out that the most suspicious are those who vote for the far-right parties.

Among those polled by the far-right Fratelli d ‘Italia (FDI) party, 60% believe that most of the information about the war in Ukraine “is a product of manipulation and falsification”, while 29% question the information and images “from the allegedly war crimes of the Russian army “and estimate that it may be” directed by the Ukrainian government “.

These figures fall to 55% and 28% respectively in the case of the other far-right party in Italy, Matteo Salvini’s Lega, but fall to 29% and 12% in the case of those who say they like the center-left Democratic Party (PD).
