Map coordinates – the application is designed to easily determine the coordinates and address of a point on the map and share them with friends via SMS, email or social applications.
One click on the map gives you access to world coordinates. In addition, Map Coordinates offers a complete set of tools such as distance measurement, current GPS location, history/favorite places, shared location location, location finder, or copy coordinates/address. You can switch between multiple coordinate types such as decimal degrees, DMS (degrees minutes and seconds) or even special types like what3words, MGRS, GEOREF (WGRS) or UTM.
When you need to find a place, you can type/paste the address/coordinates into the search field or enter each coordinate value one by one in its own field using advanced search options. What3words, UTM, GEOREF (WGRS) and MGRS can only be searched with a single search field.
The current GPS location is best received when the mobile device is outdoors. GPS satellites are easy to find when there are no obstructions such as buildings or clouds. Even if the device is indoors, the location can be accurately found via a Wi-Fi network, but only if the device is connected to this network.
The side drawer menu is used to navigate between different parts of the app such as History/Favourites, but is also used to switch the card provider. Available map providers are Google Maps and Open Street Maps, each with different types of maps. A compass is also available in Open Street Maps.
Settings can also be accessed from the side navigation drawer. There you have options to switch between existing coordinate types, change the visibility of the address bar, or you can enable the distance measurement tool and the Elevation tool. Altitude displays the elevation of the selected location on the map.
Gpx and kml file types are supported with some limitations: only simple points are processed by gpx files and only Marks are processed by kml files.
