Marcel Cobuz in the TITAN group

The Board of Directors of TITAN Cement International, at its meeting of June 20, 2022 and after consultation and cooperation with the family of major shareholders, is pleased to announce the following upcoming management changes.

Marcel Constantin Cobuz joins Titan from July 1, 2022 as a member of the Executive Committee of the Group and from October 15, 2022 as Chairman of the Committee, succeeding Dimitris Papalexopoulos. Mr. Papalexopoulos will succeed Mr. Takis Arapoglou in the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the TITAN Group with effect from January 1, 2023.

A French and Romanian national, Marcel Cobuz has more than 20 years of international experience in the construction and building materials industry, leading roles and projects related to innovation and digital transformation at Lafarge and Holcim. Among other things, he was the Head of Europe of LafargeHolcim and a member of the Executive Committee of the Group worldwide.

Marcel Constantin Cobuz has French and Romanian citizenship.

He joined the Lafarge Group in 2000 and has held various leadership roles in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. He was the Head of Europe of LafargeHolcim (Europe Region Head) from 2018 to 2021.

In more detail:
From 2002 to 2006 he was a Lafarge CFO in Romania (which today belongs to the CRH Group) and General Manager of AGET Heraklis (company listed on the Athens Stock Exchange during the period).

From 2006 to 2011 he was CEO of Lafarge in Indonesia and Iraq.

From 2012 to 2014 he served as Senior Vice President for the Acceleration and Transformation of the Lafarge Group. In this capacity, he created marketing teams and new offers targeted by the Group’s customer segment.

From 2014 to 2015 he led the teams responsible for the preparation and synergies of the largest merger in the international cement industry between Lafarge and Holcim.

From 2015 to 2017 he was CEO of Lafarge Holcim in Morocco (a company listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange).

From 2018 to 2021 he was Head of LafargeHolcim Europe’s operations, overseeing 22 markets and having more than 20,000 employees under his responsibility.

Marcel Cobuz started his investment banking career at Creditanstalt Investment Bank and as a businessman in Romania.

He studied Law and Economics in Bucharest, while completing the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and attending a series of executive programs at INSEAD, IMD, and the Singularity Group.

He has served on the Boards of various companies, as well as non-profit educational organizations in Zurich and Casablanca.
He is married and the father of four children.
