Marco Mengoni, just like Richard Gere (thanks to Giorgio Armani)

A milestone in the history of fashion which returns to prominence in prime time on national television. Marco Mengoni, guest of of the big, the new program of Alessandro Cattelan which has just debuted on Rai 1, has in fact chosen two Giorgio Armani suits for his performance on stage. The singer is back on stage with an unreleased edition of I heard it through the grapevine and a medley of some of his greatest hits (Warrior, Muhammad Ali and the single But tonight) choosing the same suit for one of his performances greige worn by Richard Gere in the movie American Gigolo. Suede jacket, wide trousers, shirt and tie: the record holder it looked like it came out of the famous 1980 film directed by Paul Schrader. A classic of cinema, which not only marked the beginning of the career of a very young Gere but also determined the birth of that “Armani style” style that inevitably marked an era, making the designer an icon of Made in Italy.

The singer then shared with fans the excitement of having brought, for one evening, the role of the American actor, posting on his account Instagram some backstage images that I see him posing next to the famous dress by American Gigolo. An exhibition, the one on Rai 1, which marks the return of the singer after the surprise concert at the Triennale of Milan on the occasion of the last Supersalone. This time Mengoni thrilled the audience not only thanks to his performance but also for its look, truly unforgettable.
