Marco Nanini suffers knee injury and has show canceled

The actor Marco Nanini, 75, suffered a knee injury this week and, because of the consequences, had to last week of performance of a canceled theater show .

The situation was announced this Friday (26) by the Prio theater itself (where the season was showing), which is located in the south of Rio de Janeiro.

“Actor Marco Nanini suffered a torn meniscus [estrutura interna do joelho]and this broken part is causing sharp pain , which prevents you from maintaining sessions. In order not to compromise the presentations, we decided to interrupt the season.”

On Thursday (25), the theater had already announced the cancellation of the day's performance, stating that the actor had been “struck by a severe flu”.

Nanini was performing in the play “Traitor ” since April 4th and would end the season next Sunday (28th).

With text, direction and visual design by Gerald Thomas, the show placed Nanini on stage between tragedy and humor, optimism and pessimism, so that he could talk to himself, asking himself questions that were materialized by other actors.

People who had already purchased tickets for the next screenings of the play will be notified by email and will receive instructions for refunds, according to the theater's official Instagram profile.

A CNN questioned the actor's communications team about his current health condition, but received no response at the time of publishing this text.
