The actor Marcos Frota 67, recreated a pose from his character, Tonho da Lua, in “Women of Sand”. Frota participated in the successful soap opera on TV Globo, which aired in 1993 and was written by Ivani Ribeiro.
In a post on Instagram, the artist shared a photo in which he appears hugging a sculpture during a trip to Paraty, in Rio de Janeiro, where part of the story’s scenes were filmed.
The photo was compared to a photo taken 30 years ago during the filming of the film. “Long live Tonho da Lua,” he wrote in the post. See below.
In the production, Tonho is Donato’s (Paulo Goulart) stepson and Glorinha’s (Gabriela Alves) brother. The character, who suffers from mental problems, can be lyrical, naive or aggressive, makes sculptures in the sand, is loved by Alzira (Giovanna Gold), but his heart belongs to Ruth (Gloria Pires).
