Marcos Palmeira: actor’s face is used in AI scam on Instagram

Actor Marcos Palmeira told CNN this Saturday morning (8), which was victim of an Instagram scam . According to him, a profile called Portal Black Friday would have used your image without authorization to manipulate a video with artificial intelligence (AI ) and create a advertising campaign which he never did.

As reported by the protagonist of the soap opera “Reborn” from TV Globo, the page used a video he had published on the social network and placed his voice over it reproduced with artificial intelligence . The objective was to promote a Bosch tool kit, which was being sold on the profile.

A CNN Palmeira complained about the legislation aimed at the internet in Brazil and asked that users pay extra attention with scams of this kind. “If there is no specific legislation for the internet, it will be very difficult,” said the actor.

“Consumers, and Brazilians in general, must be very attentive, not only with false product campaigns, but also with this flood of fake news that invades our lives and, unfortunately, still deceives many people”, he concluded.
