Dedicate time to your children or have a little fun on social media, entertaining followers? Not for everyone these two options are in opposition. Mariah Carey somehow amusingly managed to do both, killing two birds with one stone. In fact, on Saturday 9 July she posted on TikTok and Instagram a video in which Moroccan and Monroe, the eleven-year-old twins she had with her ex-husband Nick Cannon, are the protagonists of a social gag.
A small fashion show has been recreated, presumably at home, mimicking prestigious catwalks, such as those ofhaute couture of Paris or Milan Fashion Week. The twins are the absolute protagonists and behave, to use a play on words, as model models. It is as if they already knew well – and were therefore able to make fun of it – the movements and poses typical of this context. After all, the two are understandably not new to the world of spotlights and Monroe already has an advertising campaign in which she posed for a children’s fashion brand.
She is the first to come out on the catwalk, dressed in a blue sleeveless dress, gold pointy shoes and a floral headdress; then it’s the turn of Moroccan, who looks totally dressed in silk, with a pair of sneaker white. In addition to the perfect interpretation of the twins, nothing is really missing: the lights, the red carpet, the cheering front row, even a fan that blows air into the – beautiful – hair of the two boys.
The “problems” begin when the two mini-models have to share the exit on the catwalk (after a change of clothes, of course): Monroe tries to stretch and pass in front of his brother, hiding him from the limelight; but he is not there, pushes her and starts the fight with the two models who end up being divided by the security officers. All fake, all edited, but with a great sense of humor, also explained by the text accompanying the video: “no child was mistreated for the making of this video”.
Of course not, even if the proximity to a subsequent post, in which Mariah Carey appears with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, perhaps takes away a little spontaneity from this which could have been a further and amusing tribute to the beautiful relationship that exists between mother and sons.
