Mariah Carey performs an unprecedented encore and sings a special song for Brazil in SP

The singer Mariah Carey 55, escaped protocol on his tour, returned to the stage for an unprecedented encore and sang “I Want To Know What Love Is” during his show in São Paulo . The American performed in São Paulo, at Allianz Parque, on Friday (20).

The song chosen by the voice of “Hero” and “I’ll Be There” was more successful in Brazil than anywhere else in the world, since topped the Brazilian charts for 25 weeks in 2009 when it was part of the soundtrack of “Live Life” . Discover ten of the biggest hits of the singer’s career.

As she has done in her two performances in China, Mariah appeared to have ended the show with “We Belong Together” when she said goodbye to the audience, left the stage and had the stadium lights turned on — indicating that the performance was over and the audience could leave.

Moments later, the lights went out again and she paid tribute to Brazil by including “I Want To Know What Love Is” in the setlist especially for the São Paulo audience, who accompanied Mariah throughout the song.

Mariah Carey will perform on the Sunset Stage at Rock in Rio on Sunday (22) and the expectation is that she will repeat the tribute made in São Paulo. These are the the singer’s first shows in Brazil since 2010 when she performed at the Barretos Cowboy Festival.
