The song “All I Want For Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey reached the Top 10 from Spotify’s Top 50 Global playlist, this Monday (25), exactly 30 days before Christmas. Depending on the platform, the playlist is updated daily with the most played tracks at the moment.
Released in 1994, the song became a true Christmas classic. Considered the most popular on the Billboard Holiday 100, the song reached 1st place on the Hot 100 list only in 2019, 25 years after its release, and since then returns to the top every November .
It is because of this song that Mariah Carey became known as the “Queen of Christmas”. According to The New York Post, the singer has already earned more than US$60 million (R$ 348 million) just with music streaming not counting the money made from album sales, downloads, licensing and other types of royalties.
On the playlist, songs like “APT.” by Rosé and Bruno Mars and “Die With a Smile” by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga are at the top as 1st and 2nd place, respectively. “Luther”, the song by Kendrick Lamar and SZA, occupies 3rd position.
