Months before the shooting attack that killed councilor Marielle Franco (PSOL) and driver Anderson Gomes, former military police officer Ronnie Lessa used the internet to carry out searches related to the crime, according to investigations.
Defendant in the case, Lessa is said to be responsible for shooting the victims. The attack took place on March 14, 2018 in Rio de Janeiro.
The information about the searches carried out by the former military police officer, who has been imprisoned since 2019, was obtained after the defendant’s telematic confidentiality was broken. The content of the research was presented by prosecutor Eduardo Martins during the second day of the trial of Lessa and former police officer Élcio de Queiroz.
