The mother of singer Marília Mendonça, Dona Ruth, warned fans about scams that have been publicized involving the singer’s name.
She pointed out that auctions, which promise to sell objects that would have belonged to the country star who died at the end of last year, are being announced on social networks.
In a press release, Ruth stated that these auctions are fake and used as a scam by criminals.
“My daughter’s things are at home. Nothing has been donated or given away to anyone else. Stay tuned, we are preserving everything that is hers”, said the mother of Marília Mendonça.
Grammy nomination
At the end of last month, the singer received a posthumous Latin Grammy nomination for the album “Patroas 35%”, made in partnership with singers Maiara and Maraísa.
The album was nominated for the category of “Best Country Music Album”.
“Patroas 35%”, a collaboration between Maiara and Maraísa and Marília Mendonça, was released in October 2021, days before the accident that killed Marília.
The awards will be on November 17, in Las Vegas, United States. There are 53 categories involving recordings released between June 1, 2021 and May 31, 2022.
