Mario Balotelli confesses: “I’ve never created a family, it hurts not always having children with me”

Balotelli speaking with Fedez also opened up about his own difficult childhood. The player was in fact born in Palermo from one Ghanaian immigrant family, then moved to Bagnolo Mella, in the Brescia area. In the first three years of his life he had serious intestinal problems which forced him to undergo a series of surgical interventions: «I was two years in hospital. Due to her health problems and financial difficulties, her birth parents, Thomas and Rose, sought the help of social services. Mario was thus entrusted, when he was four years old, to the Balotelli family, where he grew up together with the other three children of the couple (the adoptive father, Francesco, died in 2015): «When i went into foster care i suffered from itI didn’t understand it at first, I was too small, but once I grew up I had the courage to talk about it and face it and realized that my family did it for me, because they couldn’t give me what I neededThey helped me”.

Despite the adoption, Mario has never lost contact with his family of origin. In particular col brother Enoch, to whom he is very close: «We were born from the same mother. During the week I was with the foster family and maybe at the weekend with the natural family, so eventually we were always together». Then, when Mario started playing in Manchester, Enock, then sixteen years old, went to live with him: «It was a good time, we had a lot of fun».
