Mario Draghi’s “girls” and other (unofficial) social profiles

He doesn’t have Twitter, he doesn’t have Facebook, not even Instagram: the president in charge Mario Draghi has no social media account, yet it is everywhere. The web was filled with memes as soon as the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella entrusted him with the task and, while the former ECB number one started consultations to verify the possibility of forming a new government, they were born dozens of unofficial fan pages dedicated to him. His first big supporters? “Babies” and “babies” (in the gallery above the accounts to follow).

In the wake of @LeBimbediGiuseppeConte, account dedicated to the former prime minister who has become a real catchphrase, Draghi too now has his own baby fan clubs. Indeed, it has many, because among the new profiles landed on Instagram, there are now dozens of this type: above all @lebimbedimariodraghi e @lebimbedimdraghi and many variants such as @ le_bimbe.di_mario or @ibimbidi_mariodraghi.

The common denominator? All these “babies” and “girls”, as they had already done with Conte – and many high-profile personalities and VIPs, since there are accounts with similar names also dedicated, for example, to president Sergio Mattarella and Chiara Ferragni – they adore the president-in-charge. They transmit their affection and their esteem with memes at the limit of the romantic full of hearts, and images with sentences full of esteem, designed to always tear a smile.

Everyone tells of Draghi as the savior of the homeland, and the same is happening in dozens other accounts just landed on social media: for example “Dragons Save Things” on Facebook and Twitter @DraghiMalvagio, which comes as an account and parody of the “Thirtieth and last President of the Council of the Italian Republic”.

The president in charge is crunching record numbers in terms of visibility: Reputation Science, a company that deals with the reputation of companies, managers, institutions, has calculated that in the week in which he was awarded the job his name was mentioned 260 thousand times. Meanwhile, on Google all the searches with “Mario Draghi” are on the rise and after the questions about his biography, the most clicked on concern his party. No one will probably ever know, but (also) on the Internet everyone is sure of one thing: he is the man of the moment.
