The sport canoe slalom cross kayak which debuted at the Paris Olympic Games, has gone viral on social media, being compared to the Mario Kart series of video games.
This is because, throughout the competition, the obstacles faced by the competitors led internet users to compare the challenges with the famous video game, in which anything can happen.
At the start, competitors are thrown into the water via a ramp and over the course of 210 meters, they have to, for example, roll the kayak under a bar.
They cannot break some rules, such as interrupting the start or not completing the 360-degree Eskimo turn. In the modality, the Brazilian Ana Sátila qualified for the semifinals of the competition this Monday (5).
The athlete also became a meme on social media due to the intensity with which she appeared throughout the competition in Paris.

Ils ont inventé Mario Kart dans l’eau with Kayak-Cross. Fabuleux.

Kayak Cross is my new favorite sport. They drop them into the fake river like a water park ride and then they go nuts on each other. pic.twitter.com/110Gfc2qlR
