For the 15th consecutive week, the market has reduced the expectation for inflation for 2022, according to this Monday’s Focus Bulletin (10). The document released by the Central Bank (BC) forecasts 2022 inflation at 5.71%, compared to a projection of 5.74% the previous week.
For 2023, the forecast is that the IPCA, the official indicator of inflation, will remain at 5%, the same number recorded in the last two weeks.
The center of the official inflation target for 2022 is 3.5%, for 2023 it is 3.25% and for 2024 it is 3%, always with a tolerance margin of 1.5 percentage points more or less.
The financial market projects an economy growth of 2.70% for 2022, the same value forecast in the previous week. Two weeks ago, the expectation of Brazilian GDP for this year was 2.67%.
For next year, GDP forecasts were revised upwards, with an expectation of economic growth of 0.53%. Previously, the projection was 0.5%. For the exchange rate, the projection is that it will remain at R$ 5.20, and the basic interest rate, the Selic, will remain at the current 13.75%.
