The financial market forecast for GDP (Gross Domestic Product) for 2023 rose for the sixth week in a row this Monday (7), according to the Focus bulletin, published weekly by the Central Bank.
The document recorded a 0.7% growth forecast for the economy next year, compared to 0.64% in the previous week’s survey.
Despite the positive review, the growth forecast for next year is still far from the current government’s economic expectations. In the 2023 Budget Law Project (PLOA), the economic team projected a growth of 2.5% for 2023.
For 2022, the highlight of the document is the revision of inflation, which had a slight increase. This week, the document forecasts an inflation of 5.63% for this year, while last week, the expectation was 5.61%.
The center of the official inflation target for 2022, defined by the National Monetary Council (CMN), is 3.5%, for 2023 it is 3.25% and for 2024 it is 3%, always with a tolerance margin of 1 .5 percentage point plus or minus.
For 2023, the inflation forecast remains stable at 4.94%, also above the target defined by the CMN.
