Market starts week in doubt about PEC dos Precatório and stable abroad

The financial market starts the week stable abroad, but with doubts about the PEC dos Precatórios on the national scene.

Abroad, after the new records last week, markets open stable in correction movement.

The maxims were motivated by the payroll in the United States, which showed a recovery in employment, without major wage inflation; by the balance sheets of companies exceeding expectations and by less harsh interest decisions by the American and British BCs.

These factors reduced fears of global inflation and helped risky assets.

Also in the United States, the House finally approved Joe Biden’s infrastructure package that calls for $550 in new spending.

In Asia, stocks closed mixed, but indices in China rose on a surplus of more than $84 billion in October, the highest in history.

In Europe, stable indices are also reflecting a correction in the global market and a rally in oil, after Saudi Aramco announced the second-highest 20-year high in barrel for December.

Brazil

On Friday (5), Justice Rosa Weber, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), suspended the payment of amendments to the 2021 Budget rapporteur. The Court judges the injunction tomorrow.

Yesterday, the minister gave a period of 24 hours for Arthur Lira and the board of directors of the Chamber to comment on the processing of the PEC dos Precatórios. The action was filed by Rodrigo Maia and questions the votes of congressmen who were on leave and other regimental maneuvers.

The minister had already given two other deadlines, on Saturday morning, on two other actions that questioned the PEC vote. Until last night, there was no response in any.

The future of the PEC is uncertain because, in addition to the actions in the STF, with so much noise and threat to amendments now coming from the STF as well, it is not known what the support will be in the second round of voting.

Despite the bill’s text deteriorating public accounts, the market fears that, without the PEC, worse solutions will be adopted. Uncertainty about what should happen weighs on assets.

Finally, starting today, the Exchange will have new trading hours. The opening is still at 10am, but the trading session will gain another hour and will go on until 6pm.
