Markit Services PMI rises to 58.3, up from 57.5

The Markit Services PMI Index for January it was revised up from the previous reading of 57.5, which was expected to remain unchanged and came in at 58.3. The rise takes more significance compared to the December 54.8 data. The composite index climbed to 58.7, beating the market consensus of 58.

Previously, the ADP employment report from the private sector was known, which showed figures significantly above expectations. On Friday it will be the turn of the official employment report.

The dollar it was not affected by the data released Wednesday. Yields on Treasuries rose.
