Marriage at first sight 8, Antonio and Giorgia speak: “That’s why it’s over between us”

They were the only couple of this edition to have survived the experiment but, when the cameras of Marriage at first sight they died, Antonio Quarta and Giorgia Rosati had to deal with real life, with the distance that separated them and with many small things that during their coexistence they had minimized in an attempt to make the couple work. The result is that Antonio and Giorgia are no longer together, while recognizing that he has built a strong relationship of friendship with each other that will last over time. “Unfortunately, after a period of dating off camera, Giorgia and I realized that we worked better as friends than as a couple. That wedding ring was often the cause of quarrels. It was useful to remove it to rediscover a different Giorgia: more pleasant, more serene and cheerful », Antonio tells a Vanity Fair.

“I have my faults in this separation: during our relationship I was too fussy, maybe selfish, I had turned off and was not giving her what she deserved to have. Now we have an even better relationship than before and, paradoxically, we feel more than before. Not a day goes by without hearing it. We have never stopped sharing our daily life which I have always looked for with her », Antonio insists, now that Marriage at first sight it is concluded, he can say that he has found a faithful and loyal friend in Giorgia. Even if we “wanted the story”, to quote Julia Roberts in Pretty Womanit’s time for Antonio and Giorgia to look forward, taking advantage of this interview to take a little look back and understand what didn’t (really) work between them.

After the episode Then, it seemed that you were happy and determined to make the relationship work: then what happened?
Antonio: “We tried, we were determined to continue our knowledge. Unfortunately distance plays an important role, the frequency of the weekends spent together decreased with the passage of time and this led us to distance ourselves sentimentally day after day, without even realizing it ».
Giorgia: «We tried hard until January, it was a crazy and magnificent story at the same time, which left me with emotions that I didn’t think I could feel. The circumstances of life put us in front of a table and with all the maturity in the world we decided that splitting up was the right thing at the moment. Then what I always say is that whoever lives will see ».

Did distance or real life away from the cameras affect your decision the most?
TO: “The distance only affected, because our couple was as spontaneous as you have seen and, even without cameras, we got along very well. We might have been cowards, but our story was not to the point where neither of us left their “world” and moved on to the other. What if it went wrong even after living together? I would have lost my job, the sacrifices of a life … I probably would have had other opportunities, I don’t deny it, but I am of the opinion that to take such a step it takes even more determination than it takes to marry a stranger ».
G: “In my case, distance was the primary cause. I wasn’t able to fully live what I wanted and, at the moment, I couldn’t even afford to sacrifice everything I had here. “

Disappointed with how it went?
TO: «I continue to be firmly convinced that I would do this experience together with Giorgia a thousand more times. I do not hide the fact that I believed so much in this experiment and, even if it went like this, I do not feel disappointed, quite the contrary. I have had the opportunity to grow a lot, both from a personal and sentimental point of view ».
Giorgia: “If I look back, I don’t regret anything. I have overcome many of my limits and defeated many monsters, and this is certainly thanks to him. Maybe I would let myself go a little more in some respects, but I’m working on it ».
