Massacre in a nightclub in Ecuador: 8 dead and 3 wounded from shooting

Shots at a nightclub in Ecuador on Sunday resulted in the deaths of eight people and injuring three more, in the most recent incident of violence affecting South America, authorities said, according to AP. The incident occurred in the Santa Loussa rural area, in the coastal province of Guayia, which is considered one of the most dangerous in the country. According to a police statement, seven of the victims, between the ages of 20 and 40, were killed in the club, and the eighth succumbed to his hospital injuries. Authorities reported that heavily armed perpetrators arrived with motorcycles and two vehicles. The motive of the attack, which occurred two days after an armed ship on a boat near the El Mountain, in the southwest of the country, was not known immediately. That attack killed four people, and many are still missing as the perpetrators exploded on the boat.
