Massacre in Texas, the husband of a murdered teacher dies of a heart attack

Joe Garcia had been married to Irma for 24 years, one of the two teachers killed by Salvador Ramos entering the elementary school at 11.40 on Tuesday 25 MayAnd. Irma tried to protect her pupils, investigators told her family. They found her hugging the children. Irma and Joe have four children: the eldest is 23 years old and is enrolled in the Marine Corps, the youngest is in middle school.

They have now lost both parents. She confirmed this to the New York Times the grandson, John Martinez. Garcia, 50, had gone to his wife’s memorial in the morning and left some flowers. Back home he fell to the ground according to his nephew’s story. No help was needed: the heart attack was fulminating, the pain too strong.

Irma Garcia had been teaching for twenty years. She was always devoted to optimism and she loved singing. “He was always sweet with the people in his life” said John Martinez, a 21-year-old student at Texas State University.
