The President of the Italian Republic Sergio Matarella received today at the Kyrgyz Palace the President of Algeria Abdelmajid Tebun.
“Algeria has long been a strategic partner in the energy sector, but also in a number of other areas. We are grateful to Algeria for further intensifying this cooperation, which has resulted from contacts with our government,” Matarella said. .
“Our cooperation, of course, extends to the field of ecological transition to identify alternative and renewable energy sources, so that we can respond to the climate crisis facing the planet through the only available road,” the Italian president added.
At the same time, in the presence of the Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, a number of important bilateral agreements were signed at the Palazzo Kizzi Government House.
According to the Italian Presidency, these agreements concern the exchange of information in the field of finance, cultural cooperation, tourism and small business.
Finally, the companies Sonatrach and Eni signed a memorandum of cooperation to enhance the production of natural gas and hydrogen in Algeria.
