The first edition of Matera Fiction, at the start in Matera from 1st to 4th June, starts right here: from the stories and international TV series that are attracting the attention of the whole world and that deserve to be treated with the same dignity as the films that critics carry on the palm of their hand – it is no coincidence, after all , that Hollywood understood before the others that TV series are the future of the star-system -. Matera Fiction, organized by GFG Media Associates under the patronage of the Basilicata Region, the Municipality and the Province of Matera and in collaboration with Rai Fiction, Mediaset and Tv Globo, decides to offer its visitors aa unique opportunity to introduce the recurring heroes up close, the settings staged, the plots, the characters, the themes and the production trends most practiced by world fiction by asking those directly concerned: production professionals and artists ready to open a privileged and exclusive cultural window on the world.

The strong idea of ​​Matera Fiction is, in fact, that of concentrate seemingly heterogeneous themes in a rich program that relates them. In fact, the same, which range from cinema to publishing, from music with the inevitable transition to television and which are effectively addressed both to insiders and to a simple audience of fans of the genre, are united by a minimum common denominator, i.e. the pivotal theme of fiction. The television series addressed in several study days between testimonies, insights, thematic exhibitions, music, tastings. it is, in fact, the beating heart of a variegated mosaic capable of photographing different nuances. From the promotion of multi-ethnicity to the enhancement of territories, up to the changes in social and economic development, the historical memory and the rediscovery of the internal areas that start from Basilicata and, in particular, from Matera.

Matera Fiction therefore sets itself the goal of being a large window on the world from a privileged observatory such as that of Matera and its hinterland.
