#Matriarchy, the reverse short film on gender inequalities

In an upside-down world, it is men who are discriminated against and women who discriminate. Tell this the short film #Matriarchy for International Women’s Day on 8 March 2022 conceived by the non-profit association Mama Chat.

This short is an invitation to open your eyes to gender inequalities and emphasize how holidays and anniversaries are meaningless if the current state of affairs does not change. Carolina de ‘Castiglioni’s screenplay of Matriarchy is a deliberately comic manifesto against the stereotypes that still label women and those who identify with them. The interpreters are: Carolina de ‘Castiglioni, Cecilia Dazzi, Jane Alexander, Valentina Melis and Pier Luca Mariti.

The real data show that 249,000 women lost their jobs during the pandemic, 96,000 of them are mothers with minor dependent children. 70% of girls between 14 and 18 have experienced sexual harassment and sexual appreciation in public places. 54% of them often felt disadvantaged simply by being female. 1 million 404 thousand women have suffered physical harassment or sexual blackmail in the workplace during their working life.

Mama Chat works for them, a non-profit association that offers psychological assistance and help to women and boys in difficulty online through a listening desk run by psychologists who every day since 2017 have responded to thousands of requests, reaching in just 4 over 20 thousand people for free.
