Bitwise Director Matt Hawgan told how Bitwise told how the change of power in the United States and its policy regarding cryptocurrencies can change the “four -year digital asset cycle”.
Hawgan explained that historically, Bitcoin moved in a four -year cycle, with growth for three years, after which there was a correction. He noted that the cycle begins with a catalyst – a technological breakthrough or event that attracts new capital to the market. Subsequently, the “bull market” is gaining momentum, but at the end there is a certain disappointment, Cio BitWise emphasized.
The expert said that the current cycle began with mass cleaning, which occurred after large scandals and bankruptcies of 2022: FTX, Three Arrows Capital, Genesis, Blockfi, Celsius and others.
According to him, the catalyst, who launched this cycle, was the victory of Grayscale in March 2023 in the trial against the US Securities and Exchange Commission on Bitcoin-ETF.
Cio BitWise explained that “if we followed the classic four -year cycle, then 2025 would be wonderful for digital assets.” In his opinion, this will happen, and BitWise predict the growth of the first cryptocurrency up to $ 200,000.
Matt Hawgan also cited some signs by which the cycle should have remained unshakable, but subsequently US President Donald Trump issued decrees on cryptocurrencies.
According to him, the positive consequences of Trump’s decrees along with other changes will be felt for years rather than months. He added that at best, it will take a year to create and introduce a new regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies.
He added that the four -year cycle has not yet been completed, and poor players will appear during it, this can lead to a sharp correction.
However, any correction will be shorter than in previous years, since the crypto space has become more mature, I expect volatility, but I’m not sure whether it was worth putting against cryptocurrencies in 2026, summed up CIO Bitwise.
