One of them spontaneously presented herself to the investigators, explaining that she had finally understood who the man with whom she was having an affair really was only after seeing his face on television. “I had no idea of his true identity, to me she presented herself with a different name,” she said. “I didn’t know it was Matteo Messina Denaro.” What she tells is a love story that seems completely “ordinary”: the couple would have met up to a few days before the arrest of the fugitive in the apartment in Vicolo San Vito.
The woman has assured that she has never had any suspicions about her ex-lover, of whom she speaks of a “kind and attentive” man. The woman is certainly not the only one to have presented herself spontaneously by the investigators since the ex-fugitive was arrested.
