Mauricio de Sousa makes illustration in honor of Gal Costa

The cartoonist Mauricio de Sousa made an illustration in honor of Gal Costa, who died on Wednesday morning (9), at the age of 77.

In the drawing, published on the official account of Turma da Mônica, the singer appears holding a guitar sitting on a cloud, with the words “silver rain will fall non-stop”, a reference to the song “Chuva de Prata”.

Several characters from the group appear in the image, including Monica, Cebolinha and Magali. In the caption, it is written: “Gal, my love, you will always be lucky! Luck in life”.

The singer’s cause of death has not been released. She would perform at the Primavera Sound festival in São Paulo last weekend. The show was canceled on the eve of the event.

Gal Costa’s wake took place at the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo (Alesp) this Friday (11) and was open to the public. The burial took place at 4 pm, in the cemetery of the 3rd Order of Carmo, in Consolação, in the capital of São Paulo.
