Satellite images taken Friday showed several large ground forces deployments and about 150 transport helicopters in southern Belarus, about 20 miles from the border with Ukraine, a private US company said, according to Reuters.
The images showed a large growth of helicopters near the Belarusian city of Chojniki, which had more than 90 helicopters parked on a road with the growth spanning more than five miles. The images also showed a large deployment of ground forces with several hundred vehicles in phalanx position in various fields.
The images released by Maxar Technologies, which has been monitoring the development of Russian forces for weeks, could not be verified independently by Reuters.
