The body of Maxciel Pereira dos Santos arrives this Wednesday (5) in Brasília and will go to the National Institute of Criminalistics of the Federal Police (INC).
The Federal Police (PF) wants to know if he was killed by the same group that murdered British journalist Dom Phillips and indigenist Bruno Pereira, in Amazonas.
The investigation also seeks to find a projectile that may have been lodged in the indigenist’s body. Maxciel’s body was exhumed on Tuesday (4) by the Federal Police and accompanied by family members of the server in Tabatinga (AM).
Maxciel Pereira dos Santos, 35, an employee of the National Indian Foundation (Funai) was shot dead in Tabatinga in 2019, and so far no one has been arrested.
Maxciel’s family carried out an investigation on their own and sent the result to the Federal Public Ministry (MPF), requesting the opening of an investigation, based on the suspicion that Maxciel’s death was due to his performance in fighting crimes. environmental issues in the Vale do Javari region (AM). This case came to light shortly after the deaths of Bruno Pereira and Dom Phillips.
