May 1st, the return of music on the stage of the Concertone

The slogan was carefully chosen. “Italy heals itself with work,” said the subtitle of Concertone, which on May 1st, fourteen months after the start of the health emergency, brought back the music, the voices, the technicians: workers who have been stopped for too long for indifference to (still) accompany their indigence. Together, the entertainment sector was able to rekindle and, on the stage, in the long marathon which, from 4.30 pm to midnight, was broadcast on RaiTre, several artists wanted to give voice to their satisfaction.

“Thanks for letting us breathe again,” he yelled Receive, while others – among the many who during the six hours of music were busy on the stage of the Concertone – used their microphone for messages, personal and urgent.

Music, the First of May, was not the only protagonist of the Concertone. Rather, it was the means through which to tell battles and pains, which in the alternation of indie, pop and mainstream have found their own concreteness. Fedez he talked about politics, using the Concertone as a substitute for Instagram, where he has repeatedly said his opinion on the present Italy. Chadia Rodriguez, with Federica Carta, she wanted to uncover her breasts, her nipples covered with rainbow hearts.

“Long live the freedom of love,” he cried, his hand reaching out to the sky and the palm covered with clear writing. The same one that, in part, returned in the words of Michele Bravi. “Words are as important as intention, words write history. Words, even the lightest, can carry enormous weight. It took me many years to find the right words to tell my love for a boy and for me it is an honor to do it now, to do it here “, said the former winner of X Factor, in one of the most moving and pure moments of the Concertone, so participated that it experienced – like any physiological event – ups and downs.

May Day was not just successful performances and well-chosen notes. He did not bring perfection to the streets. But it is back in the squares, and after a year or more of silence there would have been no more correct melody with which to accompany the Labor Day.
